You would not be the first person to report an incorrect start date for your PIP award - it happened to me (click the coloured words for more details), though in my case I was only incorrectly denied eight days of benefit by the initial decision before it was corrected.
DHPs are not payments of benefit and are therefore not subject to the statutory appeals process. Thanks for the useful information and thank you to everyone for being so welcoming. The funny thing is that I have been claiming ESA from 31st December 2013 and I am still on the assessment phase as I still haven't been invited for a medical or have been given a decision on my claim.I received my money from them and it was backdated to the 12th September when I first applied for PIP. Regards Hello Shalm2014, I am new here also, and like you I have just received my award for PIP, this was also my first claim, and thank goodness I was successful.
I received my money from them and it was backdated to the 12th September when I first applied for PIP. Regards On new claims, entitlement to PIP exists from the date of claim or the date the qualifying impairments have existed for three months, whichever is later. The only exception to this is if you are in reciept of dla and are transitioning to pip. But you say you never claimed disability benefits before so you should get the backpay.
